Singapore Airlines, newest class of travel Premium Economy Class
Singapore Airlines is delighted to announce the commencement of its newest class of travel, Premium Economy Class. The new cabin is opened for sales yesterday, 03 Feb15.
From 9 August 2015, customers travelling on select flights from Singapore to Sydney will be thefirst to experience the new cabin class, served by the Airline’s Airbus A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs, in addition to the future fleet of Airbus A350s. In the latter part of 2015 and early 2016, Premium Economy Class will be made progressively available to other destinations including Beijing, Delhi, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, London, Mumbai, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo and Zurich.
Key features include:
• Seat width ranging between 18.5 and 19.5 inches offering an eight-inch recline for more ease and comfort
• A sleek 13.3-inch full HD in-flight entertainment monitor, the largest in its class
• Individual in-seat power supply, two USB ports, personal in-seat reading light, cocktail table, as well as additional stowage space for personal items
• A more extensive range of food and beverage offerings, including the option to select from the Premium Economy Book the Cook service featuring popular dishes, from April 2015

Virgin Australia unveils first lounge in Cairns 01OCT13
Virgin Australia has officially unveiled its first lounge in Cairns, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to enhancing travel to the destination for leisure and corporate guests. Located on the upper level of the Cairns domestic airport, the 710m2 lounge offers dedicated areas to relax, refuel and work, including business facilities, entertainment options and a Luke Mangan designed buffet.
The space has been designed to encapsulate Virgin Australia’s contemporary look and feel, offering sweeping views of the tarmac and the hinterland. Taking inspiration from the tropical environment, the lounge features timber privacy screenings, floor to ceiling glass windows to maximise sunlight and vibrant colour accents through the soft furnishings.
The lounge seats 180 guests and features:
- Luxury lounge seating in a contemporary interior design;
- Australian chef Luke Mangan designed menu and refreshments including an all-day barista service;
- A meeting room, which seats 6-8 people;
- A premium selection of wine and beer;
- Business services including complimentary WiFi, power, PC and printer;
- Entertainment and relaxation with newspapers, premium magazine titles; and a high-definition television featuring FOXTEL and free-to-air programming

Garuda Indonesia Launches the First Class Service
Garuda Indonesia, the airline of Indonesia,has launched the new First Class service in its newest fleet member, the state of the art Boeing 777-300ER, with an exquisite touch of unique Indonesian hospitality as part of the “Garuda Indonesia Experience”.
When flying First Class, passengers will be able to enjoy private seating and the dedicated on board chef service, enabling them to choose from a selection of delicious meals from a First-Class menu, prepared at an altitude of more than 35,000 feet. The Boeing 777-300 ER has a capacity of ‘314 passengers,with a seating configuration of 8 seats in First Class,38 seats in Business Class, and 268 seats in Economy Class.
It is now serving the Jakarta – Jeddah route, benefiting frequent Hong Kong business travellers who are visiting Saudi Arabia from Jakarta.Meanwhile, leisure travellers can enjoy the new Jakarta – Sydney, Jakarta – Tokyo,and Jakarta – Shanghai routes from November 2013 after the next three Boeing 777-300 ER operate.Three more aircraft are scheduled to arrive in 2014 and a further three aircraft will arrive in 2015.
The new inclusion of Boeing 777-300 ER is in line with the corporate transformation and expansion initiative, the Quantum Leap 2011-2015 program, which aims to increase the capacity and broaden the international network.
The new aircraft is also equipped with in-flight connectivity;including exConnect (WiFi internet connection) enabling passengers to remain connected to the internet and continue their business activities during the flight, and live broadcast TV from six international channels for access to their favourite entertainment.
